Two women in India, one in Hyderabad and the other in Bangalore, and the short story of some woollen blankets.

Both were used to working with the West, both were thirty years old, and both came into my life on one of my trips to India. We became friends and on one of our walks we came across a factory of wonderful woollen blankets, though not before dodging a few sacred cows along the way. When it comes to cows in India you need the patience of a saint because if one stands in your path, nobody is allowed to move it along. You have to wait until she deigns to get going again and at last lets the world continue its routine.

When I wrap myself in my the soft wool of my Indian blanket and let its shapes and colours carry me away I remember them, and the different ways there are to be a woman depending on where we were born.
