I was knee-high to a grasshopper, walking along with one grandparent in each hand through Ciutadella Park towards Barcelona Zoo. I could spend hours watching the animals. Decades later I felt that same hypnotic attraction in Serengeti National Park, where hundreds of thousands of them live and pass through as they migrate. If I close my eyes I can see them against Tanzania's red horizon - one of the most amazing shows I've seen in my life.
